I chose to do my reflection on Rachel's restored photo because there is such a huge difference between the original photo and the restored photo. I like how she used the eraser tool to remove the arm from the image to make it look nicer. I also like how she played around with the colors and enhanced it so that it looks more black and white rather than yellow. I also observed that the restored photo is much more clear than the original one because of all the tools she used. Overall the restored photo looks much less damaged and a lot nicer!
I wanted to restore a picture that was meaningful to me, but I couldn’t find one that was damaged enough so I decided to use a picture of my mom when she was younger with her mom. My mom was three years old in this picture and it is meaningful to her because she used to always go to the park in front of her house with her younger brother. This photo was taken in front of that park and it is one of the only pictures they have of it. I used Photoshop to edit my picture and I learnt a lot of new techniques while doing it. Firstly I changed the color to black and white so that the picture was clearer and then I adjusted the color contrast and brightness. I found that once I changed the color of the photo there was a black shadow around my grandma’s body so I used the dodge tool and the blur tool around her figure so that it wasn’t as noticeable. In the original picture there was an arm in front of the fire hydrant so I used the clone stamp tool to remove the arm completely. This tool was particularly cool because you would click on the color in the photo that you wanted to cover another part with. For example I clicked on the fire hydrant and then painted over the arm with the color of the fire hydrant. I really enjoyed working on this picture because it was important to my mom and also I got to learn some really cool techniques on Photoshop that I can use for my other projects in the future.
Very nice workand thoughtful reflection. Be careful with manipulation as the restored photo the proportions have been sublty altered, making the photo wider in proportion to its height.
loving the colour change !! goodjob
ReplyDeleteI love how you removed the hand out of the picture to make it look better & also the colour change really makes it look more clear :)
ReplyDeleteHow nice Rachel. It looks a lot better, you did a very good job
